Living in Sydney

Sydney was only a big prison for British people, however, today, Sydney has become one of the most suitable cities for living around the world. Sydney’s fame as a world-class city, its warm, sunny climate and its strong economy guarantee its place as the most popular choice for people moving to Australia.

Living in Sydney, you have various choices for living styles. you can choose to live in the city if you are a city person, you also can buy a house in the country side if you enjoy a peaceful life.

Living in Sydney, you can lie on the beach in the summer, and ski in the snowy mountain.

Enjoy your life!

Anzac Day

every year on 25th April is Anzac Day, we remember People who have defended our country. On ANZAC Day we show our thanks to the people who have fought for our country. On ANZAC Day flowers and wreaths of red poppies are laid at the bottom of war memorials as a way of saying we have remembered these brave people. The Ode is part of a special poem that is said during the ANZAC Day service. Here are the words:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Mother's Day

The first attempts to establish a "Mother's Day" was celebrated in 1908 in the United States came from women's peace groups.

A common early activity was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War. Mother's Day is celebrated throughout the world, though on different dates across various countries. Most countries like United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Italy, China, Canada, Germany, Greece, Japan, etc.

Harmony Day-2012

Harmony Day is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This event was established in 1999 and held on 21st March every year. It is a great opportunity to celebrate and respect the culture diversity to make Australia a great place to live.

On 20th of March which is Tuesday this week, the St George Tafe student association organized the event this year and located in main campus. Students from different countries brought variety kinds of their traditional food and shared with each other.  It is always the best way to know different cultures from food.  People get to know each other through social conversation while they sharing food. And most of the traditional foods always come with a beautiful story.

On the day, students from Philippines, Mid-East, China, Vietnam, etc. also presented brilliant shows.  Students enjoyed the show; people accept other culture easily from artist program.

It is really a great opportunity for people have different backgrounds to  stay together and get to know each other.

Safety & Health ---Computer

Hi, everyone. This is my first blog in English. Today I would like to share tips for a computer safety and staying health.

Working at a computer can cause health problems related to eyes, necks and back .

Eye Strain
Eyes become very tired after we use a computer for a long time. This will cause a number of problems, such as eye tiredness, headache and so on. I suggest that you keep your eyes more than 18 inches from the screen and look away from screen during your break. Moreover, you could do eye massage from time to time. And another important thing is having regular eye tests and wearing glasses if prescribed.

Back Pain
Back pain is one of the most common problem between people who work with computers. I have following suggestion from my own experience. People who work with computers should use a proper chair. It should be a fully adjustable chair. you should take regular breaks and walk around if possible. The most important thing is your body position. Sit straight with your back and head up.

Headache
A numbers of people who work full time with computers get headaches. They feel stressed about computers. For those people, my suggestion is to relax, play sports with friends, go out with families, etc.
