Mother's Day

The first attempts to establish a "Mother's Day" was celebrated in 1908 in the United States came from women's peace groups.

A common early activity was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War. In China, people celebrate “Mother’s Day” by giving her special gifts she likes, or bring her out for a lovely dinner, etc.
